Open House meets on the second Monday of each month. It is a relaxed social
meeting for ladies, but it has a social conscience.
Children in a village in India receive a monthly donation through Action Aid. A
visit to Botton Village in North Yorkshire made us aware of the work done with
adults with learning difficulties.
During the past year we have been informed, entertained and challenged by many
different speakers. We learned about Yorkshire Air Ambulance, victim support
groups, Mercy Ships and Fairtrade. Talks about visits to China, Western America,
Iceland and the Yorkshire Dales were most interesting.
A local historian, a representative of the Body Shop and the owner of Pennine
Lavender have also given talks.
If you
would like to come to our Open House meetings then you will be very welcome.
