DO YOU WANT TO ACT, DANCE, SING OR HELP
WITH
THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS?
THEN WHY NOT JOIN US?
The Youth Theatre was formed 1970 and during its long history
it has put on over 90 shows which
include many pantomimes and musicals, some with religious connections e.g.
Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat. Godspell, etc. along with traditional
pantomimes e.g. Cinderella, Jack & The Beanstalk, Beauty & the Beast,
supplemented by productions like Alice in Wonderland and the Burston Drum and
many, many more.
In
each calendar year there are usually 2 performances. There are also
social activities which include parties, theatre visits and bowling.
Occasionally the Youth Theatre will be asked to participate
in Church Services. Especially at Christmas and Easter
There are approximately 25 members
in the age groups 8-18.
The membership is currently £10 per
annum + £5 for a T-Shirt together with a weekly subscription of
£1 per week. The intake date for new members is
September each year.
During the period up to productions there are usually 2
rehearsals each week on Wednesday and Friday evenings between 6.30pm and
8.30pm.
THE AIMS OF THE THEATRE:

To help and develop performing skills including singing and dancing for young
people up to the age of 18.

To involve adults and parents in providing training for the children in
performing arts.

To help to develop artistic skills e.g. stage design, costumes and make-up.

To train young people in audio and lighting.
