Welcome to the website of Kexbrough Methodist Church.  We hope you like the changes that have been made.

The church was opened by Mr. Joseph Ward of Sheffield on Saturday, 9th April 1938.

The church has always been important in the life of the village. Sunday worship and Christian Fellowship are central to its life but the building is used for many daily activities.

The church is part of the Barnsley Methodist Circuit and on this site you can find out all about our church and the many activities it supports such as The Girls Brigade, Youth Theatre, Luncheon Club, Kidz Aloud & Karers and Kidz also the history such as the origins of the name Kexbrough or Kexborough and links to other Barnsley churches

OUR CHURCH'S MISSION STATEMENT IS

  • providing relevant worship which leads to people, through biblical teaching and preaching, into the knowledge and love of God and of his son, our Saviour Jesus Christ;

  • creating a warm, welcoming environment where people of all ages are valued and encouraged to grow in faith through prayer, friendship and fellowship;

  • promoting growth through the continuing development of relationships within the community;

  • acknowledging the need for social concern and practical action and using our resources and gifts for the benefit of all.
     

The Western Area comprises of the Methodist Churches at Barugh, Dodworth, Higham, Hoylandswaine, Kexbrough, Silkstone Common and Staincross. Notices about special events etc. happening in our area will appear on this site.
